Twentynine Palms Book Festival Welcomes Josh Jackson as First VIP Guest Author

The Twentynine Palms Book Festival returns for its third edition on November 7–9, 2025, and is proud to announce Josh Jackson as its first VIP Guest Author. Jackson will headline the festival’s Saturday programming with a keynote conversation during Never Underestimate the Desert. This thematic day brings together writers, scientists, artists, and poets to explore the beauty and urgency of the desert environment.

Jackson’s new book, The Enduring Wild—published by Heyday and releasing June 24—is a sweeping visual journey across California’s public lands, including vast stretches of the Mojave Desert. Through his Forgotten Lands Project, Jackson explores more than 15 million acres of BLM-managed land in California—twice the size of all the state’s national parks combined—shedding light on its Indigenous histories, environmental threats, and enduring wonder.
