Six Months to go!
As we move closer to the third edition of the Twentynine Palms Book Festival, the excitement is building. Mark your calendars for November 7–9, 2025, a vibrant weekend celebrating storytelling, creativity, and community in the heart of the Mojave Desert.
This year’s program will unfold over three thoughtfully themed days, each presented by a festival partner:
Friday, November 7 | The Power of Heritage Stories – Presented by Desert General, this day will spotlight local and Indigenous narratives, honoring the voices that shape our region’s identity.
Saturday, November 8 | Never Underestimate the Desert – Sponsored by Caddis Eye Appliances, this day will explore the beauty, mystery, and fragility of desert landscapes through the eyes of writers, artists, and conservationists.
Sunday, November 9 | Books Don’t Need Chargers – Presented by Brown Bag Books, Sunday will inspire parents and young readers alike, focusing on the importance of nurturing a lifelong love of reading from childhood.
We are thrilled to announce that over thirty guest authors have already confirmed their participation. The first list of confirmed writers will be released on May 18.
A special highlight this year will be a tribute to Joan Didion, the ultimate Californian writer. Through readings and discussions, we will celebrate her unmatched ability to capture the beauty, contradictions, and spirit of California, inspiring countless generations of writers.
Another exciting new feature is the addition of a Rare Books, First Editions, and Vintage Publications section, where collectors and readers alike will have the opportunity to discover treasures from the past, curated with care by participating booksellers and collectors.
With six months to go, the festival is already shaping up to be an unforgettable celebration of words, ideas, and the magic of the desert.
