SHOOT IN 29 PALMS!

Launched in 2023, Shoot in 29 Palms is an initiative that connects stories presented at the Twentynine Palms Book Festival with filmmakers seeking compelling, location-ready projects for feature films or documentaries. Ahead of the festival, a curated catalog of stories ideal for adaptation will be sent to a select group of filmmakers, screenwriters, and development executives. Interested parties will be invited to the festival to meet directly with authors.

With its cinematic desert landscapes, short-term accommodations, expanding local production talent, and close proximity to Los Angeles, Twentynine Palms offers an ideal backdrop for storytelling. The area’s striking setting—bordering Joshua Tree National Park—and its culturally rich community, shaped by Native American, Mexican, and Anglo heritage, make it uniquely suited for a wide range of narratives.
